Transforming Car Rentals: The New App for Oscar's 50,000+ Customers

In August 2024, we partnered with Oscar, a fast-growing and innovative mobility provider, to develop a next-generation mobile app. More than just a car rental service, Oscar offers accessible and affordable mobility solutions across Spain and beyond.

Our collaboration focused on creating a seamless, user-friendly mobile experience to replace their existing platform, which has already seen over 50,000 downloads. Designed to streamline vehicle rentals, improve booking management, and enhance customer support, this app is a major step in Oscar’s mission to redefine modern mobility.

The Challenge

Oscar aimed to enhance their mobile experience with a new app that would build on their existing platform while improving usability and customer engagement. The goal was to create an intuitive and reliable application that simplifies searching for vehicles, managing bookings, and accessing customer support, all while ensuring seamless integration with Oscar’s systems.

This project was built on close teamwork between Oscar’s in-house experts and our product and engineering teams. By combining Oscar’s deep understanding of customer needs with our expertise in Software Development and Product Management, we created an app tailored to their growing user base.

Together with Oscar, we designed and developed an app focused on simplicity, efficiency, and accessibility. Key features include:

• Vehicle Search & Booking – Users can easily browse available vehicles by location, date, and type, and complete their bookings within the app.
• Booking Management – The app allows users to review, modify, or cancel reservations with ease.
• Customer Support Access – A streamlined support system ensures users can get assistance quickly, making their rental experience as smooth as possible.

The Results

While the app has not yet launched, it is poised to replace Oscar's current platform and significantly enhance user satisfaction. With over 50,000 downloads on the existing app, the new version is expected to boost engagement, retention, and growth.

Future versions (V2 and V3) are already in the works, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptability to user needs, further advancing the car rental experience in Spain.
